Speech-Language Pathologist Job Requirements
• Master’s Degree from an ASHA accredited university
• California state license
• Certificate of Clinical Competency
• Possess the knowledge to evaluate and diagnose speech, language and cognitive-communication disorders
• Possess the knowledge to treat speech, language and cognitive-communication disorders in preschool through high school students
• Collaborate with general education teachers to plan instructional materials or implement strategies
• Strong desire for student's to have positive functional outcome to enhance their communication skills in all aspects of their life
• Team orientated professional with strong oral and written communication skills
• Community orientated professional who is able to build strong relationships with parents, teachers and school administrators
Speech-Language Pathology Assistants Job Requirements
• Completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program
• Bachelor's or Associates Degree
• Registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the State of California
• Knowledge of speech, language, hearing development, articulation disorders and rehabilitation
• Follow therapy plans set forth by the Speech-Language Pathologist
• Prepare materials for use in a push-in or pull-out model services
• Track performance data using progress monitoring tools, report progress on IEP goals and document student progress
• Communicate progress to parents, teachers and Speech-Language Pathologist in regular meetings, phone conversations and progress notes
• Collaborate with members of the IEP team, special education team and school site teams
• Participate in IEP process and attend meetings when appropriate
• Adapt or modify instructional materials as needed for teacher use in the classroom under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times
• Enforce school-wide culture, systems, and expectations
